 What You Can Expect From Us

  • If working on your horse becomes unsafe for the horse, or us, we will advise you of options before proceeding.
We will do our best to meet and exceed your expectations.

 What We Expect From You:

  • To be open, frank and honest with us.
  • To be present, or arrange for your representative to be present, when we work with your horses, until I know them, and all are comfortable.
  • Horse to be trained and well mannered.
  • To provide a safe, dry, level and well-lighted place to work.  (I realize that not everyone can provide this.)
  • To have your horse(s) caught and secured, with feet and legs clean, in the shoeing area when we arrive for work.
  • To be committed to providing for your horse’s welfare.
  • To provide us with all the information that we need to help your horse.
  • To listen to and give our advice due consideration.
  • To pay your account upon receipt unless other mutually agreed-upon arrangements are made in advance.
  • We would greatly appreciate if you would refer others to us whom you believe would benefit from our services.
  • Forty cents (minimum) per mile trip charge.  Mileage and trip charge will be adjusted, when other customers are near, and the adjustment will benefit the customer.
  • ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE, due to constant increases in material costs.

  • John Redditt is a member of the Brotherhood of Working Farrier's Association and is committed to giving his clients quality services by his constant continuation of his education in all fields of farriery and equine science.
  • John has recently attained Certified Journeyman Farrier, and has apprenticed under a number of the best farriers in Tennessee, and has attended seminars given by the accomplished Dr. Doug Butler, an expert farrier with 40 years experience, author of “Principles of Horseshoeing III (P3)” among several other books and owner of Doug Butler Enterprises, Inc.
  • John has been employed by and /or studied under Danvers Child, Barry Capps, Bob Pethick, Bud Beaston, Ralph Casey, Danny Dunson. John has also been able to work with some of middle Tennessee’s and Southern Kentucky’s Top equine veterinarian’s Dr’s Coles, O’Brien, Wooten, Baber, and Lovell.  Two of the above are members are members of the International Horseshoers Hall of Fame.

                     
Charges/Fee

  • "Unruly" or "Unschooled" horses will be priced accordingly.
  • Payment is expected at time of service.
  •  There will be a $25.00 Non Sufficient Funds Fee for any Returned Checks.
  •  Someone must be available to catch and hold the horse(s) and present payment.
  • Work will be stopped when the situation becomes unsafe for us or the horse.  Charges will apply for expected days service.
  •  A Training Charge of $50.00 will be added if physical restraint is necessary, and likely to be effective.
  •  Veterinary services to administer sedatives must be arranged for in advance.
  •  A 24-hour notice prior to appointment must be given for any appointment changes. This includes:  adding or subtracting horse(s) from the appointment scheduled, changing what is scheduled to be done to the horse, canceling an appointment, etc. (for cancellations within 24 hours, an appointment change fee of $50.00 will be charged). .
  •  We do provide 24 hour services to our clients however in the event that you do need our services outside of normal business hours which are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday, 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, there will be a $50 emergency call fee in addition to our normal charges.
  •  Overnight Charges If two or more days are required to shoe several horses, an overnight charge will be added to your bill.
  •  The overnight charge is a flat fee of $95.00 per night and will be collected at the same time the shoeing bill is paid. We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing Redditt Farrier Service for all your horseshoeing needs.
